Ander Egiluz Beramendi, Writer

Ander Egiluz Beramendi of Leioa, Bizkaia is a graduate in Journalism of the University of the Basque Country and has developed his career mainly in the Culture section of newspapers, magazines, and radio stations, such as Deia, Onda Vasca, Ortzadar, Argia, and the Basque Public Radio and TV EITB, among others.
In 2010, he covered Boise, Idaho’s Jaialdi for Grupo Noticias and made his first contacts with the Basque diaspora in the US. Three years later, in 2013, the Kern County Basque Club invited him to spend seven months in Bakersfield, Calif., to teach Euskara to the members of the club and Basque Culture, History, and Language to CalState Bakersfield students. After this experience, he moved to Los Angeles, where he interned at the Spanish language newspaper La Opinión, covering, among other events, the 2014 edition of the Oscars.
Egiluz Beramendi currently works as a contributor and freelance journalist for a number of media groups, publishing his articles in Basque, Spanish, and English, on a regular basis.
