Juliette Camou, Writer
Juliette Camou is currently studying International Business at California State University, Bakersfield, with plans to continue her education in the MBA program. She previously earned her bachelor’s degree in International Business from Montpellier Business School in France, where she lived and studied for three years.
Raised in the South San Francisco Basque community, Camou has been deeply involved in Basque cultural activities from a young age. She danced with the Zazpiak Bat dance group in South San Francisco and has remained actively connected to the Basque community throughout her life. In addition to Basque dancing, she worked for several years at the Basque Cultural Center restaurant, attended numerous Udalekus (Basque summer camp) and participated in Basque festivals across the United States.
Camou is also a member of the Chino Basque Club, where her grandparents immigrated. Her Aita’s family comes from Irisarry and Ossès, while her Ama’s father comes from Sumbilla, Navarre. Her lifelong involvement in these cultural traditions reflects a strong connection to her Basque heritage and community.
